One Day Without Shoes is coordinated and promoted by TOMS Shoes to promote awareness that millions of children worldwide grow up without ever owning shoes and are at risk of infection and disease. Each pair of TOMS shoes sold ensures that another child will receive a pair of shoes as well. One for one! (They work with World Vision, one of my favorite poverty fighting organizations.) How many pairs of shoes do you have? Do you even think of wearing them to protect your feet? (I don't. I consider them a fashion accessory.) Where can you go today without shoes to help raise awareness that this problem can be solved?
